"Trend Like Me"

GENIE
Well, Disney movies are just bound to last:
We've animated some thirty tales.
First, great art and songs. Next, whom to cast?
We've found a formula that never fails!

We've got some dollars in our bank accounts,
The Disney executives can rejoice.
'Cause our profits went up in large amounts
Since Robin Williams did my voice!
And I say:

"Hey listen, Hollywood,
If you're a celebrity,
We've got roles in order--
Come on down!
There ain't never been a trend like me!"
No no no

We've had our lion's share
Of Matt and Jeremy.
There's not a celebrity to spare--
There ain't never been a trend like me.

Yes sir, our casting's based on stardom,
It's so great!
It's grand! Give thanks!
Thought Smith was swell?
Guess what? He's Mel!
How about Tim Allen and then Tom Hanks?

We've got Cheech Marin and
Ms. Goldberg too--Whoopi!
We've got James Earl Jones' Darth Vader tones--
There ain't never been a trend like me.

Can you speak real soft?
Can you speak real loud?
Can you do yourself and Disney proud?
Can you hit that note?
Don't worry, dear.
We'll hire Broadway singers to sing for you
Or make that number disappear!

So call your agent now, don't miss the tide,
Take advantage of all your fame!
There are others who are qualified
But they just haven't got the name!
We've got a powerful urge to get some clout
So we'll hire stars that you'll be sure to know.
Some can't sing a simple song, no doubt,
Well, all we gotta do is dub like so--and oh

Wish for a star, my friend, and you'll get two or three,
There's more to come--Demi, my chum,
There ain't never been a trend, never been a trend,
There ain't never been a trend, never been a trend,
There ain't never been a trend like me!
There ain't never been a trend like me, hah!
