By Laura Muench
You went through so much,
Had to bear agony, fear and contempt.
Thinking this would be meant for you,
A life full of hate, evil and pain.
Though you kept persuading yourself,
That you would love this life
Of false wealth and power,
You knew deep inside,
That you were alone,
All the time.
Showing you the wonder of friendship and love,
And revealing your hidden heart of gold,
Which was long forgotten.
You never knew
The feeling of being wanted, loved.
You never felt
The worth of your little life,
And the caring for other lives.
Till this boy showed you
The way out of the dark.
In this boy and his friends.
And so you “became good”,
Or like they call it.
And so you “got happy”,
'
At least it is what they think.
No matter how often they’ve saved you,
No matter what fun you might have with them,
No matter even how much you care for them,
You’re still alone.
For they could never know,
What life you had before.
For they could never understand,
Why it’s so hard for you to trust, to show your real feelings.
For they could never feel,
Just the way you feel.
That I am here,
Feeling sad for you,
Who had to suffer more than he had deserved.
Appreciating your hidden heart,
Which is not easy to see.
Admiring your unbroken strength
To care and trust.
And, most of all,
Knowing, understanding,
And sharing
The loneliness in your heart.
That I am here,
For you.
