Bleed

Will you bleed for me?
Would you open your eyes
Just long enough to see the real me?
If I cut open your eyes,
To make you finally open them,
Only then would you see me,
But you would see me in fear of the monster
You all think I really am.
Pathetic fools, you have no idea
Who I am, because you run and hide.
That is my power speaking loud and clear:
"Fear me, all you cowards!
Know my power and bow to me!
I am your lord,
And if you do not worship me,
You are my enemy,
And I will destroy you all!"
Worthless voice of power, my mind says,
Shut yourself up and listen to yourself.
Are you really that happy that everyone fears you?
How much blood must be shed
Before you will finally stop this quest
For power, for your ego, for your pride?
Just let it go...
"No! The price I've paid is too high!
I've paid the price in blood!
To possess such awesome and great power is painful,
But it is worth it...worth it to destroy those
Who don't believe in my power and pride!"
And I often find my body falling in defeat,
Not from those around me,
For all those fools I've triumphed in victory over,
But I find myself running from within,
From those voices they call my conscience.
I wish I could turn back
And bleed out all this hatred in my heart,
But I've gone too far to look at my former self.
All he was has quickly been consumed by blackness
And hidden away forever in a dungeon of repression.
I will not let him out.
He is my own weakness that I spend
So much time, even now, fighting from within.
He is the fool who made me who I am today,
And truly, on the inside, I am vulnerable and suffering,
But that part of me, they will never see.
My pride, my power, my stubbornness will win,
For they always have in the past,
And I am not about to let that change.
Go ahead, then.
Make your move on me and let me bleed,
But it is doubtful you will ever advance in your ranks.
I hold my position firm and high
As I do my standards.
I worked for what I own,
And I will not let what is rightfully mine
Just be taken from me,
At least not without a fight.
Now, are you ready to bleed?
