The road we’ve taken has hurt us,
It has sometimes caused us pain,
I was left knowing only that I loved you,
That you were my shelter in the rain.
Maybe our love wasn’t strong enough,
We both thought it wouldn’t last.
Though we missed each other terribly,
We could not forget the past.
It seemed doomed from the beginning,
We had problems from the start,
But somehow I couldn’t forget you,
You were always in my heart.
Jasmine (to Aladdin)
The road we’ve taken has pushed us,
Pushed us to the extreme.
It forced us to deal with our feelings,
To deal with the joy and pain.
When my world was falling apart,
I crawled into my shell.
So locked within my own hurt,
I couldn’t see your breaking heart.
We drew each other close,
Then pushed each other away.
We hoped to find some common ground
With the one we loved the most.
Aladdin and Jasmine (to each other)
We may have more to go through,
The future is unclear.
But as long as you still love me,
There is nothing I can’t do.
