k, in the movie we're told that Jas has to choose a hubbie before her 16th b'day, which was in three days...now I was wondering they don't mention aladdin's age anywhere...how old do u suppose he is?
considering the kown fact that boys mature slower than girls, and his rate of maturity versus jasmine's....tricky, or maybe not!
what do u guys say? _________________

I think it was mentioned in my ps game Aladdin in Nasira's revenge that he's 17...(I can't remember for sure cuz I don't have the game here right now.) Can the game be trusted? _________________ Oh I come from a land from a far away place |

Well, as of "The Prophet Motive", he had been "living on the streets for 17 years" so if you consider the series canon he's at least that old.
When does Nasira take place? Is it after Al and Jas's marriage? _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

I say 17 because of the series and because I think it's from birth to the end of the first movie. He was made to be a lot older when they re-did the story, so I can't imagine him being below that. And then when he said the "17 years on the streets line", maybe he was 18? It would have been nice to give us some birth months
And you could take that line as from whenever his mother died and he was living on the streets by himself, but then you have to add 17 years to whatever age he was when that happened which could around 3-5. Then that would make him like 20-22 in the first movie, which I think is way too old.
I think Nasira's revenge is before they get married. I need to finish playing this game. I've been in KHII land for a while now |

I guess you're right; never thought about that. If "Prophet" takes place after "Forget Me Lots" (like it does in the airing order) then he's definitely over a year older than he was in the first movie. Then again even if it's fairly early (like I think ) his birthday could have been right after Jasmine's or something. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! I'm not going to vote yet, because I can't decide.
He couldn't have been twenty in the first movie. I'd put him at seventeen. Maybe his mother lived on the streets, too... Hmmm... At any rate, in the series, I don't think he could have been older than nineteen, so...

Well, let's see...on the Aladdin DVD, they said that Aladdin was meant to be about 18 in the first movie. Someone else on here calculated that him and Jas were together for 3 years during the course of RoJ and the TV series,so by the time we get to KoT, Al is 21 and Jas is 19. _________________

i was in the same situation too. but i beated Nasiras revenge before, he wasnt married thats for sure cause they never mentioned them as married ..they said aladdin as engandged to the princess and the future sultan of agrabah..so he wasnt married.I cant see al being like 2 or 3 years loder then jas .maybe at the most hes a year older then her. about age ill say he was like a cuople months older then jas in the first movie so he was around his late 16yrs old.saying that it was a 3 years till the wedding. ill say aladdin was 20 and jasmine was 19..no older.

Okay, let's clear up a misconception. They never SAY how old Jasmine is! Sultan just says "You must be married to a prince before your next birthday." It doesn't say how old she's turning. The consensus is that she's turning 16, but she doesn't have an official age in the movie. She probably is turning 16. I just think words are being put into mouths they never came out of. I think I'll agree Jasmine's 16 and contemplate much more important matters like how old Jafar is... |

If you read one of my earlier posts, I said that in an earlier version of the script, the Sultan didn't say "...by your next birthday," he said, "...by your sixteenth birthday." If you don't believe me, I can get ahold of it sometime. (I think it might have "Count On Me" in it, but I'd have to double-check.)

You're right. It was taken out because Ron and John were catching hell for having Ariel marry at 16. |

Had I not read the script, then I'd have put Jasmine at about seventeen, or maybe eighteen, by the time the series came around. For some reason, she just seems more mature than Ariel. I don't know why.

I use to think that as well. I could have sworn she was turning 18 just cause I thought she looked older |
