Chapter 1: Close Call
A large, magnificent, chestnut stallion galloped across the sand.
His rider was tall, muscular, broad, and handsome.
The stallion stopped and looked over towards the left.
"Sabeek, what is it?"
General/Royal Vizier Cassim Ben-Hassan Al-Ababawa of Agrabah followed his horse's gaze.
Something was out there!
What was it?
Whatever it was Sabeek didn't want *anything* to do with it.
Trusting his horse's greater sense of danger over his own keen sense of danger, Cassim headed back towards Agrabah.
They were halfway home when there was a great explosion nearby!
Cassim flew through the air, hit the ground, and knew nothing more!
He regained consciousness a few hours later to find Sabeek gently nuzzling his face.
One little movement told Cassim that he was hurt badly!
Gathering his strength, he mounted Sabeek, who galloped home as fast as he could.
Weak and hurt as he was, Cassim staggered up the steps into the palace.
His vision was starting to become blurry.
Cassim shook his head then winced.
He made it to the throne room only to find it empty!
Gathering what little strength he had left, Cassim struggled to reach the menagerie before he passed out.
He made it to the menagerie. He wasn't far from his family and friends, who still hadn't seen him, when he collasped and knew nothing more!Back to index
Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Cassim regained consciousness to find himself in his room on his bed!
His wounds had been cleaned and bandaged.
He looked over to see Aladdin sitting in the chair beside his bed!
Aladdin saw Cassim was awake and was relived some.
"Dad, are you alright?"
Cassim wasn't sure what Aladdin had just said! He saw his lips move but heard no sound!
Seeing his father's confused look, Aladdin repeated the question, louder this time.
Cassim still didn't hear him!
Cassim's sharp hearing had been so sensitive to really loud noises, the explosion caused him to become deaf!
The royal physician told the gagn it was only temporary. Cassim would be able to hear just like before in about two weeks!
Two weeks passed, and Cassim's hearing showed no improvement!
"I guess I was wrong. It looks like he'll never be able to hear again until he dies."
Aladdin and Jasmine spent their days with Cassim, praying over him, and, when the emotional pain of losing his hearing got to him, crying with him!
Their prays and tears did *not* go unnoticed.
God gave a miracle!
He gave Cassim his hearing back!
Little did anyone know, Cassim would soon face the greatest, most dangerous, hardest, and most horrible test of his life!Back to index
Chapter 3: Chapter 3
Cassim sat bolt upright.
Had he just heard someone say his name?
"Must have just been my imagination."
"Cassim."
There was no mistake this time! Someone was calling him!
Cassim got up and reached for his sword.
It was gone!
He slowly made his way towards the voice. He saw a figure much like his own standing on his balcony!
"You've finally come."
"Who are you? How do you know my name?"
"All shall be clear in time."
"What do you want from me?"
There was brief pause.
"That is not important. What is important is that you..."
The man lunged at Cassim, who just barely had time to block!
"... stay alive!"
Cassim kicked the man off him.
"Who the heck are you? Why do you want to kill me?"
"That does not matter."
A fierce fight broke out between the two men.Back to index
Chapter 4: Chapter 4
The gang came into Cassim's room to see his standing on the balcony.
When they called to him he didn't respond!
Genie carefully inspected Cassim.
"He's in some kind of trance. We better wait for him to snap out of it."
Meanwhile, the fight was still raging on!
Cassim found that his foe surpassed him in swiftness, agilty, strength, and fighting skills!
Finally he found himself pinned to the ground!
The fatal blow he expected did not come!
The man got off and pulled Cassim to his feet!
"Well done, for the level you're at now."
Cassim, breathing heavily, turned to the man.
"Who are you?"
The man took his mask off, and Cassim gasped.
"You're... you're... you're *me*!"
"Correction, I am who you will be."
"This is really weird."
"Do not think you've mastered how to fight. Our fight proved you have much to learn. Do not hesitated to accept an offer to be taught something."Back to index
Chapter 5: Chapter 5
Cassim moaned softly, blinked, staggered, and fell!
Aladdin jumped forward and caught him before he hit the floor.
"Are you okay, Dad?"
Cassim gasped for breath, sweat dripping from his face.
He was finally able to answer.
"Yeah. I'm fine, or I will be."
"What happened?"
"You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you, son."
Cassim stood up and went into his closet to change.
The gang looked at each other and shrugged.Back to index
