Does anyone here use Aladdin in anything in school?
i.e. We were making hovercrafts in shop, and I convinced my partner that we should make our hovercraft like a magic carpet. So we cut it out and painted it like Carpet. So when we hovered on them, it was like riding a magic carpet. It was great.
Or when, on English tests, the teacher puts "write a complex sentence", I would write a sentence having to do with Aladdin characters.
Any of you guys do anything like that? |

I remember Freshman year we had to write an essay about a fictional character who had some kind of effect on you. I chose Aladdin of course. |

I've already told everyone I wrote a paper about the Aladdin soundtrack for my film class. And when I was in high school we had to bring something important to us for a project in English class, and I brought one of my stuffed Iagos. _________________ "If only I could believe you. 3 out of 5 of my essays in Freshman Comp. last semester had something to do with Aladdin in some way.
Not to mention the dozens of drawings I've done in art classes and managing to sneak a quote in essays for other classes. |

I think I might slip in some Glenn Keane in my next art project.
Here's to hoping I can get away with it. _________________

I wrote a little poem in 12th grade about a man's lifelong quest for a hidden treasure, and how he hurt his innocent child in the process- take a while guess who that's about. _________________

I had to write a page filled with dialogue, and I used the Aladdin story and twisted it a bit.

Last semester, I almost chose Alan Menken to be the subject of a paper I had to write on a representative New Yorker. I had to describe what the spirit of the city meant to me and how that person, who didn't necessarily have to be a New Yorker, embodied it. I chose not to do it, though, because I couldn't find much information on him. That, and it felt kind of weird writing on something Disney related. It felt like mixing work with play. _________________ When in doubt, hurt the bird.

I use Aladdin just to get through my day sometimes. If I'm sitting in class... and it's really B-O-R-I-N-G, I'll start thinking about the guy I like and what it would be like to go on one of Aladdin's adventures. It's lots of fun, but you doze out and miss alot of the lecture.
I can't exactly use Aladdin in the things I do because no one else that I've ever met in person knows how far my Aladdin obsession goes. So, I keep it on the dl... just daydream about Aladdin-related things through out the day. _________________ MysticMeg's Stories on THE LIBRARY OF AGRABAH!!!

Daydreaming about Aladdin! Now that's something I can get away with. I'm always imagining myself as one of the characters in Aladdin, or some other Disney movie, when I'm bored. I especially love playing the songs in my head. _________________ When in doubt, hurt the bird.

that and the theme song from Kingdom Hearts. |
Me too. I was a slight fan of Utada Hikaru's before KH, but "Hikari/Simple and Clean" sealed the deal. I tried to memorize the words to "Hikari," but couldn't, so whenever I sing it to myself, I have to make up random syllables that sound like Japanese. Good way to get stared at, let me tell you.
But an even better way is to just go straight Disney - try busting out with "Prince Ali" during lunch. 'Tis amusing. _________________

Yup I have done that before! I once was in music class and it was break and they had you know one of those pianos that is electric. And one of the songs it plays is A Whole New World so I played that when ever I had the chance (I drove the others crazy). Also once I brought my box of Aladdin kleenex's to school. Everyone kept teasing (not rudely though) about Aladdin. And ofcourse in Art my art teacher usually letted us work freely on it once we are done with our prodject so I drew some pictures of Aladdin and the gang! And when I had freetime in any class I usually am working on a rough draft to my fanfic of Aladdin I am writing! I also day dreamed alot about going on an Aladdin adventure! *sighs* There is more but I can't remenber anymore right now! |

You too?
I know last year in AP Bio, I'd got so bored in class (because we never did anything in the class) that around April I decided that anytime the teacher gave us a "study period" aka silent hour, I'd pull out a big stack of papers and would write out the script to Aladdin until the end of the hour. Needless to say I finished the script and was starting on doing it again by the last day of school |
