No offense to any possible Aurora lovers, but I don't know why she's marketed at all. In books and posters with other princesses, she's all enlarged in the middle and Jas is all tiny in the back. Snow White is not exactly girl power, but she was the first original Disney princess. Ariel at least had a series. Cinderella is classic and was one of Walt's favorites. Belle is a good role model. Most little girls you ask about their favorite princesses would probably say Jasmine. Esmerelda gets way more coverage than Pocahontas, who is an actual princess. Out of all these princesses, why is Aurora given so much attention? She was dead half her movie! Or semi-dead...nearly-dead...or...never mind.
yea i agree with you..plus that she never had any charizma, her voice is sooo opera, they could have put someone with a catchy voice like ariel or belle instead of putting a very opera voice that would make u feel that the voice doesnt match the character...i would put her in the same list that has the girl in the black cauldren and Nala lion king... :? Ariel and Jasmine should be 2 main princess not only they had wonderfull movies but series episodes too! as people got to know and come closer to them..i would put snow white the 3rd since she's the first disney classic and then comes pocahontas and belle.
Some advice: if you want people who aren't Ariel fans to show respect to her, maybe you should try not to insult Esmeralda out of respect for her fans?
Just a thought. Unless there's some scene where Esme has sex for money that I'm not aware of.

Rajah has been showing up on a lot of stuff, lately, though. Not on anything specific, but just in the background of boxes and such.
I saw Rajah and Jasmine togther recently on a Disney collections shrit
It was a really cute shirt.
I couldn't get though
It was only in the girls section not in the ladies section
I couldn't even find an extra large size of the girls sectoin to fit .
Dang all the fat litle Jasime and Rajah must have beet to it. Curse you fat litle Jasimne and Rajah fans .
Don't come crying to me when your doctor tells your fat

Well, now they're making some new original animation about her for one of the Disney Princess DVDs, so that alone suggests they think she'd make them money.

well I some what around november bought a jasmine pillow and in her hand there is a poket that has an attached rajah stuffed animal thing..but I think from what im seeing is that jasmine has that bird EVERYWHERE ..and it really is a symbol.I was absolutly shocked to see rajah in her hand then a bird 0_0
jasmine makes money for disney ..but if you really look @ it Disney doenst give jasmine the chance for anyting she is barley in anything and if shes in something then the product have all the other princess(like the dolls)..or shes in the back corner of a picture.

Jasmine does make more money for disney when it comes to some of the merchandising for little girls. Outside of the DVD Princess collection, there is:
--A folding chair (for dolls)
-Toothbrushes
-Huggies diapers
-Costumes (for hallowe'en)
Anything else?
For the boys, however, it's the pixar films in which Disney follows the money trail.

Does Jasmine make money for Disney? Yes she is but she could earn allot more money if the market her right by pulling her out of the Disney Princess line once Enchanted is hit and give Jasmine her own merchandise line together with other modern I'm-no-DID ladies such as Mulan and Meg. But I personally want to see her marketed together with rest of the Aladdin characters in an action, adventure line where there is room for comedy and romance. In short bring the series to DVD and tie a marketing campaign onto it.
Here, here! I agree on bringing Jas back to the movies/series. To be fair, I haven't really looked at the DP products, so I can't give a fair assessment. But what I have seen tends to focus on being princessy and not so much on the strengths of the characters. A little better with the recent TLM stuff, but only just. I think Jas would do rather well if they pulled some from the series. For the more tomboyish, outgoing girls.

It does, but they tend to stick with the whole "caged bird/free bird" symbolism thing

You could have that snake bangle thing for Jasmine. Or maybe...hmm...RAJAH! I have a Jasmine doll that came with him that was from 1993 I think and it could work! Esmeralda could have that...what's it called again??? Well, that musical instrument she carries with her or the scarf. You could also have the Lotus comb (like back in 1998) for Mulan or maybe a cherry blossom.
