It's one of those things that's hard-wired into peoples' brains - sweet indicates a sugar content, which means a fast energy boost. <br /> <br />Of course, it could just be that kids tend to be more <span style="font-style: italic">accustomed</span> to sweet flavors, so the mint/cinnamon toothpaste is rather an unpleasant shock. My brother is not accustomed to overly-sweetened foods on a regular basis, so I think he's more adapted to less-sweet flavors. <br /> <br />Now, I personally <span style="font-style: italic">hate</span> candies and whatnot laced with cinnamon oil. It has nothing to do with the 'heat,' but rather that I find the scent somehow revolting.
